Running GIMP

In this tutorial, we will explain how to start or run a good GIMP on Linux or Windows operating systems. We personally prefer to run on the Linux operating system. Why? Because Linux is safer to use than Windows (licensing reasons).

Details computers that we use:

  • Intel Core I3
  • 1 GB DDR3
  • 320 GB HDD
  • 10:10 Ubuntu OS Maverick
  • GIMP 2.6

Okay, just go ahead. In Windows, click Start Menu> All Programs> GIMP 2.6. And for the Linux OS, click Start Menu> Graphics> GIMP Image Editor.



There are three windows of the display is GIMP 2.6. To start working with the GIMP, choose File menu> New. Then you will be confronted with new file dialog box. Here you can mnentukan worksheet size, resolution, color space, and fill with.




As we saw above, so the appearance of worksheet GIMP. You can start designing right away.
