GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a bitmapprocessing applications and digital imaging. GIMP is made tothe Linux platform. But that does not mean not to run onwindows operating system. Because the currently availableportable version is also for windows.
GIMP is better known on the Linux operating system. Eachinstallation of linux operating system is always includedGIMP application. GIMP itself is made by Peter Mattis and Spencer Kimball in 1996.
